Assistant State Superintendent, Career & College Readiness
Dr. Lynne Gilli currently serves as the Assistant State Superintendent for
the Division of Career and College Readiness (DCCR) at the Maryland State
Department of Education where she has held progressively responsible
positions since 1982.  She holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction
from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, and she received her
master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the SUNY at Utica/Rome (now known as
the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute).  Dr. Gilli attended
Broome Community College prior to transferring to SUNY.  She also currently
holds an Advanced Professional Certificate in school administration.  Her
responsibilities at MSDE include providing leadership to implement high
quality Career and Technology Education programs for secondary and
postsecondary learners.  Her many years of experience with the Maryland State
Department of Education provide her with a broad knowledge and understanding
of public policy issues impacting education, particularly in preparing
students for success in both college and careers.
