Program Director, Tribal Colleges and University Programs
Cindy Lopez is Achieving the Dream’s Director of Tribal College and University Programs which serves 34 U.S. Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). In this role, Cindy is responsible for leading the provision of
services and supports for the TCUs in ATD’s network and managing a multi-year transformation initiative including learning events, relationships and community-building with the Tribal Colleges and Universities, funders, TCU service organizations, and assigned ATD coaches.

Prior to joining ATD, Cindy was a Program Manager and Governance Institute for Student Success Program Specialist (GISS) at the Association of Community College Trustees where she planned, developed and delivered curriculum for statewide student success training institutes for community college boards of
trustees, presidents, and senior administrators across the United States.

Cindy has served in higher education roles in student services and as an undergraduate and graduate instructor. She has taught in the School of International Affairs at the University of Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, and in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma, where she also served as the Director of the JCPenney Leadership Program. During her tenure at the University of Oklahoma, Cindy created several new opportunities for students, including a study abroad program and an annual conference for undergraduate business

In addition to her higher education experience, Cindy worked for over 10 years in international development as a consultant for the World Bank on a variety social sector projects that address the needs of the poor in developing countries.

Cindy holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Mount Vernon College, and an Associate of Arts from Cottey College.
